Rugby star’s marriage is over after he cheats on pop singer wife with PR girl
AN ENGLAND international rugby player has been dumped by his pop star wife after he cheated on her with a 26-year-old PR girl.
Ben Foden, 33, had a fling with Becky Milne after a drunken party with rugby friends, it was reported.
His ‘heartbroken’ wife Una Healy, 36, confronted him over the affair before leaving the marital home with their two children and moving back in with her mother in Ireland.
The singer, who found fame with girl group The Saturdays, called off the family’s move to the United States, where Foden has signed a contract with a New York-based team.
The pair married in 2012 and were planning to move to the US with their children, aged three and six, after Foden ended his career with Premiership side Northampton.
It emerged on Saturday that Miss Healy had ended the marriage when she found out about his cheating after reading his texts with Miss Milne.
A source close to Miss Healy told The Sun that Miss Milne and Foden had gone to ‘ a very drunken party’ with some of Foden’s rugby friends and she ended up ‘ romping with him until 4am’.
The source added: ‘ Becky told a friend about her fling with Ben. She swore her friends to secrecy but the news slipped out and Una found out all about it.
‘Apparently, Una read all of Becky’s and Ben’s messages.’
Speaking from her home in Ireland, Miss Healy’s mother Anne said her daughter was having a ‘tough time’ following the split.
She said: ‘It’s not the right time. It’s tough. It’s tough. It’s really hard.’
Miss Milne, whose father runs a PR agency, lives in a modern £350,000 four-bedroom house in Northampton where she keeps her £30,000 Range Rover Evoque, which has a personalised number plate BL09OND.
Her private Instagram page shows her in bikinis and skimpy dresses, and she has posted pictures of her watching Northampton games, The Sun reported.
Speaking at her home, Miss Milne said: ‘Ben has been friends with me for years, so I’m fully aware of what’s going on. I’m aware that Una is making a statement, I spoke to her last week. I won’t be releasing a statement to anyone and I won’t be talking about anything.’
Meanwhile, Miss Healy and her daughter Aoife, six, and son Tadgh, three, have moved in with her mother in Thurles in County Tipperary. Foden still plans to travel to America ahead of his new position at Rugby United New York.
A friend of Miss Healy said: ‘She had become suspicious about Ben’s behaviour. Then enough was enough and she just confronted him.
‘ She has now decided it’s over. She’s utterly heartbroken and devastated but she’s very traditional in her outlook. She thought their marriage would be for ever but can’t see a future for them anymore.’
Foden, whose father came from the multimillion-pound Foden trucks dynasty, has 34 caps for England, earning his first in 2009 against Italy in the Six Nations.
Just over a week ago he and his wife were pictured looking happy at a friend’s wedding. Miss Healy posted the image on her Instagram account on Sunday July 22, to celebrate her husband’s birthday, adding a kiss. Last month the couple marked their sixth wedding anniversary on Instagram.
This is not the first time that Foden has found himself at the centre of controversy – pictures emerged of him during his stag do dancing half-naked in a sex club as he was whipped by a stripper in Barcelona.
At the time Miss Healy said it was ‘unfortunate’ but ‘ harmless’. The pair met over nine years ago after being set up on a blind date.
The singer’s spokesman confirmed the split yesterday, but said: ‘ Una will not be commenting on this.’
