Soldier made girl of 12 share naked photos

AN AMERICAN soldier blackmailed a British 12-year- old into sending him naked pictures of herself.

Christopher Fox, 21, befriended the girl over Snapchat and Instagram and quickly won her trust. By telling her he loved her, Fox made the girl confess her secrets. He then threatened to reveal these to her friends unless she started sending intimate pictures to him.

When she became scared and tried to cut him off he shared the naked pictures with her classmates. She was so humiliated she had to leave her school.

The girl, who is now 14 and cannot be identified, travelled to Hawaii to see Fox sentenced on Monday after he admitted sexually exploiting a child. She clutched a teddy bear while sitting in the federal courtroom with her mother.

Fox was jailed for 15 years and ordered to pay $10,000 (£7,600) in restitution to the girl and her family. The investigation began with a tip-off from Wiltshire police to the US authorities about Fox, who was serving as a military policeman in Honolulu.

Judge J. Michael Seabright said Fox’s actions had inflicted ‘a life-changing, traumatic experience’ on the girl.

The court was told she and her mother were too emotional to make victim impact statements. Fox, who will have to register as a sex offender, was kicked out of the US Army last December.
