HUGHES: INGS IS A GOOD FIT
MARK HUGHES has no concerns about Danny Ings’s injury history and believes the striker has the character to rebuild his career at Southampton. Ings, 26, who suffered serious injuries to both knees at Liverpool, joined Southampton in a loan move that could become permanent next year for £16million and he may play at home to Burnley tomorrow. Southampton manager Hughes said: ‘There’s risk with every player that you bring to a club but it’s not something we considered. He’s been back a while and proved his fitness.’ Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp praised Ings, saying: ‘If you could bottle character, his would sell worldwide. He is so incredibly positive.’ Hughes added: ‘That was an important factor in bringing him here. We want to enhance the dressing room, so that’s an added bonus for us.’
