Budgeting for HS2

IT IS incorrect to suggest I’m in favour of increasing hS2’ s budget (Mail).

The National Infrastructure Commission I chair is recommending that £43 billion funding be provided between now and 2040 to city leaders across the country — not just those along the hS2 route — to improve transport, boost job opportunities and provide homes. We’re also supporting Northern Powerhouse Rail and Crossrail 2 to help make the most of all that hS2 can offer without increasing its budget.
