Tycoon pockets £61m dividend
FInanCe billionaire Peter Hargreaves has banked a £61m windfall from the financial services firm he co-founded 37 years ago.
The 71-year-old still owns 152m shares or almost one third of Hargreaves Lansdown, which announced a special dividend last week, bringing the year’s pay-out to 40p a share.
Hargreaves Lansdown’s full-year profits have risen by 10pc to £292.4m.
It has more than £90bn of assets under administration and more than 1m clients.
Tycoon Hargreaves is ranked number 42 in the Sunday Times Rich List, with a fortune of £3.1bn.
He has recently invested £24m in the Goonhilly satellite tracking station in Cornwall.
