It is suggested his Paris comment may have referred to Atef Bseiso, PLO spy chief, killed in 1992, and accused of mastermind­ing Munich. On Sky News Mr Corbyn said he had ‘absolutely not’ been honouring Bseiso.

FRIDAY, AUGUST 10, 2018

A source closet o Mr Corbyn said his visit was‘ a Palestinia­n commemorat­ion for those killed in the bombing in Tunis ’, even when shown pictures of him with a wreath in front of the graves of terrorists. Asked to explain a photo of Mr Corbyn with arms-out-stretched, the source said he was‘ copying the others out of respect ’.

After the widows of Munich victims condemned Mr Corbyn in a front-page Daily Mail story Labour tweets :‘ The widows are being misled.’

12:30PM, MONDAY AUGUST 13, 2018

Mr Corbyn told I TV News :‘ A wreath was indeed laid by some …for those who were killed in Paris in 1992. I was present, I don’ t think I was actually involved in it.’

Labour transport spokesman Rachel Mask ell argue son Sky News :‘ He was trying to honour people who have lost their lives …and certainly not engaging in other agendas that were perhaps occurring at the site at the time.’

6:00PM

A Corbyn spokesman insists: ‘Jeremy did not lay any wreath at the graves of those alleged to have been linked to Black September or the 1972 Munich killings. He of course condemns that terrible attack .’
