Sir Cliff: Ordeal boosted faith

-

HE spent almost two years in limbo before finding out prosecutors would take no further action over an allegation of historic sexual assault.

But despite his ordeal, Sir Cliff Richard says the experience has left his faith stronger.

The singer, already a committed Christian, said: ‘I think it’s stronger than ever because I’ve had to rely on it in recent years much more than I’ve ever had to.

‘In the darkest moments I’ve never felt totally lost or alone, although sometimes you do think to yourself, “How am I going to get out of this mess?” So if anything I believe harder and more furiously now than I did before,’ added the star, above.

Last month, Sir Cliff, 77, won a privacy case against the BBC over its coverage of a police raid on his home in 2014.

He was not arrested or charged and successfully claimed the BBC news reports were a ‘serious invasion’ of his privacy.
