DEWHURST FOR ADVERTISE

- By SAM TURNER Britain’s No1 Tipster

Martyn Meade hopes that Sunday’s Group One triumph for advertise will act as a launchpad to further top-level victories for his stable this season.

the Manton handler took on the might of Ballydoyle with his July Stakes winner in the Phoenix Stakes at the Curragh, a race aidan O’Brien has made his own down the years.

However, the recent Phoenix thoroughbreds purchase rallied bravely inside the final furlong under Frankie dettori to justify Meade’s pre- race confidence.

‘Phoenix are relatively new owners, too, so to get a big win for them so soon will hopefully lead to bigger and better things,’ said Meade.

‘He’s come out of the race very well, there’s not a bother on him.

‘He’s going to have a bit of a break now and then we’ll get him ready for the dewhurst (at newmarket in October). that’s the plan.’

It is highly unlikely eminent will add to Meade’s tally, though, with the Group two winner increasingly likely to head into retirement.

‘He seems to have lost his spark for some reason,’ the trainer added.
