No green light for LEDs
THE EU is set to ban halogen bulbs and we will all have to use LEDs.
LEDs are a poor substitute: the light output is average and highly directional, and they are not as longlived and reliable as they are supposed to be.
I have been testing these bulbs for five years and you might just get the claimed 15,000 hours of life out of expensive GU10 25-watt equivalent lamps, but for all other LEDs it is doubtful if you will get a year’s use.
Let’s get away from rules based on poor technology and decide what we want, not what some EU not- so-bright spark thinks.
