WPP in digital deal
WPP has swooped on a US digital marketing agency in its second significant acquisition since former boss Sir Martin Sorrell left.
The price paid for Hirshorn- Zuckerman design group (HZ) was not revealed but WPP said the firm had sales of £18.5m last year. It also recently snapped up ecommerce company Gorilla.
HZ employs about 200 staff and major clients include Volkswagen, Hilton and Pfizer.
The deal follows Sorrell’s departure amid allegations he misused company funds. WPP carried out an inquiry into the claims, but details were never disclosed.
