Hemp without the highs

Headline-hitting CBD oil in a form that is pure, safe and entirely legal

-

ANEW supplement has hit the headlines — CBD oil. More than a thousand scientific papers have been written about it — as a simple search of the website PubMed will show.

CBD ( cannabidiol) is extracted from the leaf of the hemp plant (right), called

Cannabis sativa L. in Latin. But worry not. Although it sounds like ‘cannabis’, CBD bears little resemblance. CBD oil is extracted from hemp, not the cannabis used to produce marijuana.

And it contains significantly lower levels of the substances known to cause ‘highs’, called tetrahydrocan- nabinols (THCs). In fact, CBD has no psychoactive effects at all.

When looking for a CBD oil supplement, it is important to ensure you choose a highquality extract. With the help of global expert Professor Michael Heinrich, a leading, Cambridge-based supplement brand spent months reviewing sources to ensure its supplement delivers.

‘Many of the CBD supplements we have looked at contained less CBD than is claimed on the label.

‘There are major concerns about the composition and quality of such unregulated products,’ says Professor Heinrich, who is head of pharmacognosy and phytotherapy at University College London and a member of the company’s medical board.

‘If people are considering a CBD supplement, they should ensure that it is supplied by a reputable company and created using a pure extract.’

Future You’ s highly researched CBD is extracted using a state-of-the-art technology called Supercritical CO2 extraction.

This method produces a top-quality golden extract, rich in neutral forms of cannabinoids, such as CBD, while maintaining ultralow levels of less desirable compounds.

This golden, extra- rich CBD oil is then mixed with natural hemp oil, extracted from seeds. The hemp oil not only helps to improve absorption of CBD by the body, it also acts as a source of omega-3 and omega-6 essential fatty acids.

Supercritical CO2 extraction guarantees that the final product is safe and free from contamination.

The CBD extract is tested before being included in any food supplements, ensuring it has a THC level of less than 0.2 per cent as required by law. And the company releases independent testing certificates to demonstrate the high purity.

So its CBD oil meets the company’s high standards on quality, enabling it to provide a product that is pure, safe and entirely legal.
