Madonna’s crowning glory as she turns 60
HAVING enjoyed a lengthy pop career featuring bondage-inspired outfits, explicit videos and shocking stage shows, she certainly isn’t your typical 60-year-old.
And on her landmark birthday, Madonna won’t let anyone forget where she sits in the pantheon of pop divas – sporting a head-dress with metal horns and brandishing a sign labelling herself ‘The Queen’. She captioned the online picture: ‘In case someone forgot.’
The Like A Prayer star celebrated with a dinner in Marrakech, Morocco – and her ‘crown’ was traditional Berber headwear.
Madonna – mother to Lourdes, 21, Rocco, 18, 12-year-olds David and Mercy James, and twins Estere and Stella, five – burst to fame with top ten hit Holiday in 1983. She has notched up more than 300 million record sales.
Fellow pop star Kylie Minogue tweeted: ‘What a force and an inspiration.’
