Thomas and Froome set for Tour of Britain

TOUR de France winner Geraint Thomas and four-time champion Chris Froome will line up for Team Sky in the Tour of Britain next month. It is a major coup for the organisers as Froome will be riding in his first Tour of Britain since 2009. Thomas said: ‘As soon as I’d finished the Tour I knew I wanted to ride the Tour of Britain and race on home roads. It starts in Wales and I can’t wait.’

CARLOS SAINZ has been named as Fernando Alonso’s successor at McLaren from next season. The 23-year-old Spaniard said: ‘I’m excited about this next chapter in my career. McLaren’s drivers over the years are Formula One heroes.’
