Gig threat to Lancs tie

LANCASHIRE may have to forfeit home advantage for the quarter-finals of the T20 Blast — because a Liam Gallagher concert for 50,000 fans at Old Trafford tomorrow could badly damage the playing area. The T20 quarter-finals are due to be played from next Thursday to Sunday and Red Rose officials have asked the ECB that should the county qualify for a home tie they be given the Sunday slot to allow Old Trafford extra time to recover. Describing the situation as ‘ludicrous’, one source said: ‘This is further evidence of what many have thought for a long time — this is now a concert club rather than a cricket club.’
