TONY
Blair’s name is mud in most circles, but the perma-tanned former prime minister still thinks it’s gold. He has applied to the intellectual Property Office to trademark the name of his grandly titled Tony Blair institute for Global Change. ‘Does he really think anyone would want to pretend to be him?’ questions one cynic. His application covers everything from ‘political advisory services’ to ‘CDs, marketing and promotion of charitable campaigns’. last year, the institute backed up an anti-Brexit speech by Blair with a Facebook poll asking if we should ‘stay and rethink’ or ‘leave at whatever cost’. The result was a landslide for leave.
