Chris Evans (worth £55m) and siblings given equal shares of mum’s £133k will

RADIO 2 star Chris Evans is to share his late mother’s inheritance equally with his siblings – even though he’s worth an estimated £55million.

The estate – worth £133,000 – has been split three ways between the BBC star, his brother David, 65, and 55-year-old sister Diane.

Evans, 52, has admitted in the past that he is not close to his siblings and neither are thought to be wealthy.

David works as a nurse in Australia while Diane is a divorced teacher who lives in Leeds where, according to Evans, she ‘likes to keep a low profile’.

Evans, who last year earned £2.2million, is thought to have a net wealth of £55million. In 2000 he sold his production company, Ginger Media, for £225million.

His mother Minnie died aged 92 in May, and Evans learnt of her death just moments before he was due to host his Radio 2 breakfast show.

The star could not face going on air, leaving his colleague Vassos Alexander to read a poignant note from the broadcaster.

Minnie’s will was made in 2011 with the Liverpool probate office. After her estate was finalised, she left a tax-free net sum of £133,000.

Her ISA accounts with Nationwide were left to her grandchildren, with the rest shared between her children. Evans has three children, and is expecting twins with his third wife Natasha Shishmanian.

He was very close to his mother, describing her as ‘hard as nails’, and revealed that she once underwent eye surgery without any anaesthetic. Minnie raised her three children in Warrington, where she ran a corner shop.

She moved to Ascot, Berkshire to be close to her DJ son, and the twice- divorced millionaire would lean on his mother for advice during the ups and downs of his career.

Last year he asked her how she thought he should deal with abuse following the revelation he is paid £2.2million a year by the BBC. He said she told him to ‘earn what you can, when you can, while you can’.
