the time for rockstar car sales. As singer Madonna turned 60 on Thursday, her former black 1.6litre Mini Cooper S from 2002 has gone up for sale on Auto Trader at £55,000 (compared to just £3,000 for a secondhand non-celebrity equivalent). The car features in her song American Life: ‘I drive my Mini Cooper and I’m feeling super-dooper.’ Meanwhile, Beatle Paul McCartney’s former Cooper S DeVille (both pictured left) — one of four Minis ordered in 1965 for each of the Fab Four — goes under the hammer on September 1 in the U.S. with Worldwide auctioneers’ Auburn Auction.

The sale also features John Lennon’s last Mercedes-Benz E300 Estate from 1979. Last year, a Mini that belonged to Beatles drummer Ringo Starr was bought at a Bonham’s auction by former Spice Girl Geri Halliwell, now Horner, for £102,300.
