Cannabis group boosts its board

-

BRITAIN’s first cannabis investment vehicle has hired two senior board members, saying it believes the Government will change its attitude towards the class-B drug.

sativa investments, which went public in March, has appointed former City advisers Jonathan Wearing and Angus Kerr as chairman and non-executive director respectively.

it comes after Home secretary sajid Javid issued an emergency license to let doctors treat epileptic Billy Caldwell, 12, with cannabis oil after his supply was seized, sparking a debate over the use of medicinal cannabis.

Wearing, 65, worked as a deal adviser at Citibank, while 48-year-old former Army officer Kerr worked at Credit suisse and is a senior adviser at the investment bank Zeus Capital.

High Growth Capital, the UK’s second cannabis investment company, listed on London’s nex Exchange in June.
