I’VE been really impressed by the way James Maddison has quickly adapted to the Premier League. he is the type of player England are crying out for — a classy, skilful, creative midfielder.

I love the way he has taken the No 10 shirt at Leicester. It shows his supreme confidence. he was not fazed by making his debut at Old Trafford and followed it up with a goal against Wolves. Keep up these displays and he will be firmly on Gareth Southgate’s radar. WEST HAM cannot keep making excuses. They have spent close to £100million, brought in exciting players such as Felipe Anderson and Jack Wilshere. Winning at Anfield in their first game was always going to be a tall order but after defeat by Bournemouth, it’s time for the players to wise up. Whenever I played at West Ham, the fans demanded a certain level of performance from their players. They want to see fight and character. The board have responded to criticism by spending big. It’s up to Manuel Pellegrini and his players to step up.
