3 in 4 of us get nuisance calls
THREE in four of us have had a nuisance call in the last month, according to a poll – with almost half feeling intimdated by them.
Consumer watchdog Which? wants ministers to ensure bosses of the firms behind such unsolicited marketing are held accountable.
Under plans, the Information Commissioner’s Office would get stronger powers to hold managers directly responsible for breaking the law with further fines of up to £500,000. Currently only businesses are liable for fines. A consultation on the issue ends today.
