PICK OF THE DAY
SAVING LIVES AT SEA, 8PM, BBC2
EVERY day across the UK and Ireland, a volunteer army of nearly 5,000 ordinary people from the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) risk life and limb in a bid to rescue complete strangers. As the compelling series returns to chart more of their lifesaving endeavours, this first episode follows the crew of Salcombe lifeboat station in south Devon as they race to not one, but two emergencies of the highest level. Meanwhile, in the waters off Anglesey, the Moelfre crew set out to rescue a father and his teenage son. The second episode is on Thursday, at 8pm.
