A Hard Day’s Night, 12.20pm, p BBC2 THE BEATLES’ first feature film is a genuine trailblaze­r, blending fiction and reality as it follows the Fab Four through London to a concert, their fans in hot pursuit. It is carried by the boys’ charisma and chemistry as much as by its satirical nods and winks, and by Richard Lester’s spirited direction. Shell, 2.20am, Ch4 BLEAK but affecting Scottish drama, an acclaimed debut from director Scott Graham. Set in the Scottish Highlands, it charts the strange relationsh­ip between teenager Shell (Chloe Pirrie) and her epileptic father (Joseph Mawle), who live and work in an isolated petrol station.
