Brighton breezy about Woodward
Gary Neville’s attack on Manchester United chief ed Woodward for his ‘show of dissent’ after losing at Brighton perplexed the home club.
The opinionated sky sports pundit slammed Woodward for sitting stony-faced at the final whistle and highlighting the tensions with United manager Jose Mourinho.
Neville said: ‘He sat in his spot for two minutes after the game in what i can only describe as something that i didn’t want to see the CeO of Manchester United do. at the end of the game, stand up, shake the opposition CeO’s hand, smile, be bigger than anything and get into the back.’
yet it is understood immediately after getting up from his seat, Woodward congratulated both Brighton owner Tony Bloom and chief executive Paul Barber on their victory.
Woodward repeated his praise to the Brighton leadership in the boardroom, adding how well their team had played and thanking them for their hospitality.
executive vice-chairman Woodward was equally effusive about the opposition after Brighton beat United at the amex stadium last May to secure their Premier league status. ONe of imran Khan’s first moves as Pakistan’s prime minister was to appoint former iCC president ehsan Mani as chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board, with Khan saying he brought ‘vast and valuable experience to the job’.
Unlikely to be impressed will be england’s former cricket chief Giles Clarke, who famously walked out of the annual Wisden dinner after eloquent guest speaker Mani had criticised the preposterous way Clarke and his then chums on the iCC were trying to carve up global cricket for the benefit of england, india and australia.
Before storming out of the lord’s long room, Clarke was twice told to ‘ behave’ by Wisden editor lawrence Booth.

are estimated to be paying their truly woeful cricket pundit Harbhajan Singh between £6,000 and £10,000 a day, which is mind-blowing. Harbhajan, who has been celebrating his wealth by wearing a Gucci man bag in Nottingham, has somehow commanded his ridiculous fee because of his popularity in India, where the Sky feed is being broadcast.
