Bear’s new challenge... the man mountain
ACTION man Bear Grylls likes a physical challenge – but looking his new friend here in the eye would have defeated even him.
At a manly 6ft, the British adventurer was dwarfed by 7ft 6in Yao Ming, one of the world’s tallest basketball players.
This image was posted on Grylls’ Instagram page yesterday and shows the duo during filming of his American television series Running Wild With Bear Grylls. Yao, 7, has a massive arm around the shoulders of 44-year-old Grylls and the pair are wearing climbing harnesses.
Believe it or not the Chinese sportsman, who is now retired, was only the fourth tallest player in the National Basketball Association’s 72-year history. The tallest was Romanian Gheorghe Muresan, 47, who is 7ft 7in.
