Secret pay rise for failing boss
GAMBLING software maker Playtech has handed its chairman a secret pay rise despite issuing two profit warnings in the past year.
Chairman Alan Jackson, 74, is said to have been given a pay boost worth £66,000 a year, despite losing a remuneration vote at its annual shareholder meeting in May.
Playtech provides online gambling technology to giants such as William Hill and Ladbrokes Coral.
According to Sky News, Jackson will get a 17pc bump to his annual salary, taking it to £450,000. It was not planned for the pay rise to be publicly disclosed until next year.
