Adenegan beats her hero to gold

BRITISH teenager Kare Adenegan convincingly beat fellow British wheelchair racer Hannah Cockroft to win gold at the Para-athletics European Championships in Berlin yesterday. Adenegan, 17, won the T34 100m final in 17.38sec. Team-mate Cockroft took silver in 17.95. Adenegan’s win came after her recent admission that she is in awe of Paralympic star Cockroft.
