Lingerie firm hires boss from Burberry

LUXURY lingerie retailer La Perla has made Burberry’s Asia boss Pascal Perrier ( pictured, inset) its chief executive.

Perrier, 54, was at Burberry for 13 years, joining as vicepresid­ent of business developmen­t and later promoted to chief executive of its Asia business, the British fashion house’s largest market.

The fashion veteran was also a senior director at Gucci where he led the purchase of Yves Saint Laurent and Balenciaga. It comes after La Perla was bought by investment house Sapinda Holdings this year amid mounting losses.

Sapinda is owned by the German entreprene­ur Lars Windhorst, 41, who set up the business in 2009 after he was forced to file for bankruptcy during the dotcom bubble. La Perla, which sells lace and silk underwear for up to £500, was fou founded in Italy in 195 1954. It makes its pro products in Italy an and Portugal. Perrier rie said: ‘We will en ensure La Perla is pe perfectly positioned tio to capitalise on the exciting tr trends impacting th the global fashion lin lingerie sector.’
