Grenfell conman is jailed

A FRAUDSTER who dodged prison by pretending to be a Grenfell survivor has finally been jailed for six years.

Derrick Peters, 58, had told a judge his flatmate died in the blaze. He was spared a custodial sentence for a burglary during a stay at a four-star hotel at which he racked up a £45,000 bill.

He was jailed yesterday after pleading guilty to perverting the course of justice and two counts of fraud.
