Moment Liam Gallagher ‘grabs lover by throat’ ... before denying it happened

- By Faye White Showbusiness Reporter

FIRST Liam Gallagher was accused of grabbing his girlfriend by the throat on a night out.

Then Gallagher and partner Debbie Gwyther both went on social media to insist no such incident had ever happened.

Now, however, CCTV footage has emerged appearing to show the rock star pushing Miss Gwyther down the corridor of a London celebrity haunt – by the throat.

In the video, her head seems to be knocked back by the force of his hand.

Reports of the incident emerged on Friday when a source claimed the former Oasis frontman had ‘lost it’ with Miss Gwyther at Chiltern Firehouse in Marylebone.

According to The Sun, 45- year- old Gallagher grabbed Miss Gwyther’s throat. But the singer and Miss Gwyther, 34, immediately denied any brawl or disagreement had taken place.

He wrote on Twitter: ‘Firstly I have never put my hands on any woman in a vicious manner.’

Miss Gywther, who works for him, wrote: ‘The Sun have surpassed themselves yet again. Shame on them. Pack of lies as per usual. Lazy, sexist nonsense.’ In response to a comment, she added: ‘You’ll be pleased to know it is fake news. I can’t comment more than that as we are taking legal action.’

However, footage emerged yesterday that apparently revealed a dispute had taken place, although – due to its poor quality – it is unclear whether or not he ‘grabs’ Miss Gwyther’s throat.

Earlier in the evening, the pair had been for dinner at Scott’s restaurant in Mayfair with a friend before continuing the night at the Chiltern Firehouse.

Before the video – taken earlier this month – was made public by The Sun on Sunday, a source said Gallagher had ‘lost it’ with Miss Gwyther and was physical towards her.

The source added: ‘Liam and Debbie had been arguing and then he just completely lost control and went at her.

‘He was aggressively pushing her down the corridor. Then he stopped and turned away and she started to follow him.

‘He suddenly wheeled round, reached out and pushed her by the throat with one hand while holding what looked like a bottle of beer in the other. Debbie’s head was thrown back by the force of his hand.’ Following this, the star was allegedly escorted out by a security guard. A source said Gallagher was heard shouting: ‘She is a witch. It was her fault. She is a witch. She is a f****** witch.’

Miss Gwyther was reportedly seen crying in the corridor before leaving the venue.

Katie Ghose, head of Women’s Aid, said: ‘It is shocking to see a man grab his partner by the throat, especially someone as wellknown and admired as Liam Gallagher.’

His agent could not be contacted for comment.
