PM hails the first post-Brexit deal
THERESA May yesterday unveiled the first post-Brexit trade deal as she denied suggestions the UK has neglected Africa.
The Prime Minister confirmed that existing EU trade deals with six nations – Botswana, Lesotho, Namibia, South Africa, Swaziland and Mozambique – will continue after Brexit.
But Mrs May faced embarrassment after it emerged no British prime minister has been on a tour to sub-Saharan Africa for seven years. Asked whether she had ‘neglected’ Africa, she replied: ‘No... we have been working with African nations and African governments in the past.’
