Just what dance was she aiming for? The Maybot, of course!

-

She gave it her best shot. But even Theresa May had to admit her chances of a Strictly call-up are ‘pretty minimal’ after she displayed her dance moves yesterday.

Mrs May gave her somewhat awkward performance as she was met by a group of dancing pupils in South Africa.

Laughing throughout the performance at the ID Mkize school in Cape Town, she tried to join the youngsters’ enthusiastic dance by bobbing up and down and moving from side to side.

The robotic nature of her game attempts saw them dubbed the ‘Maybot’ on social media. She later told Sky News: ‘I think the chances of Strictly Come Dancing coming calling are pretty minimal.

‘It was a great welcome from the school today; everybody was dancing, it was great excitement, it was a fantastic moment.’ Viewers took to social media to tease Mrs May about her moves, with several politicians getting in on the act. exdeputy prime minister John Prescott tweeted: ‘I assume she’s doing the Maybot.’
