GAZIDIS CLOSES IN ON MILAN SWITCH

- By SAMI MOKBEL

ARSENAL want Ivan Gazidis’s future resolved in the next fortnight, with members of the club’s hierarchy expecting the chief executive to leave for AC Milan.

Gazidis has been made a double-your-money offer from the Italian giants to take on a similar position, a proposal he has been considering.

The offer from Milan is understood to be in the region of £3.6million per year, an offer that eclipses his current £1.7m salary.

There is a growing feeling at the Emirates that Gazidis will accept the offer from Italy, with staff expecting his future to be resolved by mid-September.

Gazidis has played a lead role in implementing some key changes at the club in recent months, namely the exit of Arsene Wenger and appointment of new manager Unai Emery as his successor.

But the temptation of joining one of the world’s most prestigious clubs — in addition to the pay increase — looks too good an opportunity to turn down.

Josh Kroenke, son of owner Stan, could emerge as a candidate to replace Gazidis if he leaves.

Meanwhile, academy graduate Reiss Nelson is set to join Hoffenheim on loan before the end of the month. Arsenal are hopeful of Nelson agreeing a new contract at the club before the move.
