Brunno Silva, an international art curator from Berlin, is a facilitator who interprets, inspires and connects conversations with artists and audiences throughout the the art world
How did you get into curating art?
After my Masters at Sotheby’s Institute I started curating for various spaces in Berlin and expanding my network of artists.
What do you look for when showcasing an artist?
Their story, inspiration and artworks must always have integrity. That’s the only way to really connect with the audience.
Favourite city for contemporary art?
Düsseldorf has many incredible young institutions, for example, the Julia Stoschek Collection.
Favourite gallery or museum?
Castello di Rivoli in Torino, Italy (left). The juxtaposition of the building’s history and the contemporary works it houses is remarkable.
What are you doing next?
My next exhibition, Memorial Device (memorialdevice.com), opens in St Leonards, East Sussex on August 31. Then, mid-September, I will be launching Lincoln Townley’s new project in Berlin, where we will also tease what he’s prepared for 2019’s Venice Biennale.
