July 16 In St Agnes, wearing shorts and flip flops, he meets Prince Charles to support Ocean Plastics Solutions Day.
July 20 He gives a talk in Plymouth in support of a proposed national marine park.
July 28-29 Gale force winds cut day’s swim short after just 45 minutes.
Aug 3 In Portsmouth he visits Royal Navy base. Aug 8 In Bournemouth shoulder injury treated. Aug 18 In Brighton he joins a beach clean. Aug 29 Arrives a day early at his destination.
Risks included strong tides, gale force winds and hypothermia.
He prepared in chilly seas off Cape Town, South Africa, where he lives.
He was painfully stung by jellyfish two or three times a day on some sections. His crew used a whistle to warn him of their approach.
