High fashion: Diana’s niece in ‘cannabis leaf ’ necklace

AS a niece of Diana, Princess of Wales, and a rapidly emerging style icon in her own right, Lady Kitty Spencer is the epitome of high society.

And yesterday she gave her edgy fashion credentials a boost as she wore a necklace with a cannabis leaf design for a fashion shoot.

The borrowed piece, from the jeweller Bulgari, was made from yellow gold with malachite, and features pave diamonds and emeralds.

But the name of the jewellery range, Happy Leaves, was, perhaps, something of a giveaway.

Kitty, 27, daughter of Diana’s brother, Charles, the current Earl Spencer, and his first wife, the former model Victoria Lockwood, posted two pictures on her Instagram feed yesterday as she posed wearing the necklace during the photo shoot in Rome.

By last night the pictures had already received thousands of likes.

Kitty, who was brought up in South Africa following her parents’ bitter divorce, is signed to the leading modelling agency Storm.

She was just six when Diana died but often speaks about her aunt in interviews, saying she is ‘so lucky’ to have some ‘special memories’ of her.
