Is this Britain’s tiniest cycle lane?
THIS bike lane would leave even the most enthusiastic cyclists scratching their heads.
The cycle path – just 30ft long in total – was painted by council contractors who left this bafflingly small patch of green behind. Damiano di Cere tweeted a picture of the road in northwest London, saying the ‘fantastic new cycle lane’ was ‘well connected to the pavement and wide enough for a fat cat to waddle down it and get tired before reaching the end’.
The average adult bicycle is 68 inches long – about a fifth of the cycle lane.
Brent Council said it was mistakenly painted on by contractors who were working on a gas main.
