‘Moped gang in £1m raids on 17 stores’

AN armed gang of mopedriding muggers caused more than £1million in losses after smashing their way through branches of mobile phone network ‘3’, a court heard.

Cody Goddard, 22, Josh Newman, 22, and Amrick Singh, 19, are accused of carrying out at least 17 late night raids across London in 2016. One store lost stock worth £56,000 after the men allegedly burst in with an angle grinder and threatened a security guard.

Rick Shaw QC, prosecuting, told Blackfriars Crown Court the riders would disguise themselves in crash helmets and ‘smash’ in armed with a variety of weapons, including firearms before ransacking stockrooms. The defendants, all of London, deny conspiracy to commit aggravated burglary. The trial continues.
