is to refresh its somewhat staid image with a little French pizzazz. It has revealed a new, 4m-long five-door coupe-style concept car — the GT X Experiment­al (pictured) — which sets the tone for a series of new cars in 2020, including Corsas, Mokkas and Astras and electric variants.

Group managing director Stephen Norman said: ‘The GT X creates a clear template for cars of the future.’ DRIVERS who have a personalis­ed number plate are 50 per cent more likely to have their vehicle stolen, according to a poll of 2,000 people carried out by MoneySuper­Market.

Nearly a fifth of British drivers — 19 per cent — have owned a personalis­ed plate at some point, with Mercedes owners most likely to have a vanity plate (12 per cent).
