HARVEST POTATOES

IF YOU grow maincrop potatoes, they are likely to have reached full maturity by now (unless they were late-planted). It’s therefore time to start lifting your crop for storage. Use a fork to dig out plants, taking care to avoid piercing any tubers. For successful storage, all tubers must be bone-dry, with a firm skin, before being bagged up. Remove as many fragments of leaf or stem as you can see.
