A FRUITFUL FORAGE

-

FrUIt harvest is reaching its peak. Stone fruits — cherries, plums, etc — are pretty well over. most apples and pears will be done between now and mid-to-late October.

As you clear each crop, take care with tree hygiene. If fruits are left on the branches, diseases such as scab and brown rot can be carried over to new crops next year.

Check the trees after removing any unwanted fruits — don’t leave any mummified ones. Look for fruits lodged in the forks of the trees or those that are out of reach.
