(Sandown, 3.35) will be hopeful their colt can follow a similar path. An impressive seven-length scorer at today’s venue last month over seven furlongs, the brother of classy race-mares So Mi Dar and Lah Ti Dar is bred to be special and the turn of foot he displayed on his initial outing suggests he can justify the billing. By all accounts, the son of Dubawi was extremely professional pre-race, with an excellent temperament. That attitude was reflected once the stalls opened with the wellbacked favourite settling before quickening clear of four rivals in the straight. While the overall time was nothing flash, Too Darn hot’s closing section was useful for a horse making his debut, especially as he raced virtually alone from the home turn. The selection must raise his game again today with Dunkerron and Confiding in opposition, while Chesham Stakes winner Arthur Kitt adds further depth to an intriguing race. All three adversaries and last week’s York runner-up Watan boast more experience than Too Darn hot but John Gosden’s colt can confirm his star quality with a dominant display.
