ON MARCH 20, 1993 — the eve of Mother’s Day — the IRA detonated two bombs in litter bins in Warrington town centre. The explosions killed Johnathan Ball, three, and Tim Parry, 12, and left 54 i injured. This powerful po and poignant drama charts the events before and after the bombing, and stars Anna Maxwell Martin and Daniel Mays as Tim’s parents, Wendy and Colin. Vicky McClure (pictured far right with Maxwell Martin) plays Susan McHugh, the Dublin mother so outraged by the boys’ deaths that she organised a vast peace rally to protest against the Troubles.
