Driven to despair

I WAS disappointed the school run was not listed among the contributary factors to child obesity (Mail).

i live round the corner from a school with 600-plus children, aged eight to 13, and can attest to the thoughtless behaviour of parents who insist on chauffeuring their little ones.

not only does this clog my street with traffic and raise air pollution, it also deprives children of muchneeded exercise in the form of walking to and from school and learning basic skills such as getting on and off at the right bus stop and crossing a road safely.
