Studs hired by bond firm Pimco
FORMER high flying banker John Studzinski is joining bond specialist Pimco as an adviser to top clients.
The 62-year-old will take the role of vice chairman and will be based in New York, advising governments and some of the world’s biggest pension funds and corporations.
Known in the City as Studs, he was a key player in the 1980s ‘Big Bang’ when deregulation saw US banks swoop into London.
He set up Morgan Stanley’s European deal-making arm in the Square Mile, then moved to HSBC in 2003 to build up its investment banking arm. The philanthropist and fine art collector later became a vice chairman at private equity firm Blackstone.
