WWI trees on the move
QUESTIONS were asked at St George’s Park this week after it was discovered that the outside plot where England players were photographed last March with 12 trees that were being planted to honour the dozen England internationals who fought in the First World War had been entirely grassed over.
However, it turned out that the trees have been moved to the place in the SGP grounds where they were originally intended to be planted alongside the relevant plaque. But the bog-like conditions in that area last spring caused the plaque to be set up initially elsewhere.
