Posh: How I sobbed on my lonely trip to ‘mind detox’ spa

- Daily Mail Reporter

VICTORIA Beckham has revealed how she ‘sat on her bed and cried’ after checking in alone at an exclusive spa that specialises in ‘body and mind detoxes’.

The fashion designer and former Spice Girl, 44, said she was ‘really emotional’ after she arrived at the spa and made a video phone call to her husband David, 43.

The distressed mother-of-four booked a flight home for the following day, but later decided to stay and see out the trip to Baden-Baden, Germany. She told British Vogue: ‘When I first got there, I was really emotional. I sat on my bed and cried. I skyped David and said, “What am I doing here?”

‘I’d never been away from the children unless it was a compulsory work trip. Even me and David never go away – just the two of us. We’re always present with the children.’ Mrs Beckham eventually settled in and enjoyed the recent trip, including a regime of meditating, hiking, bike riding and ‘just being kind and looking after me’.

She famously stayed in Baden-Baden during the 2006 World Cup in Germany, where she was frequently pictured out shopping alongside other football WAGs, including Cheryl Cole.

Details of her spa stay come three months after the Beckhams denied ‘bizarre and embarrassing’ gossip that their marriage was over following speculation they were getting divorced.

The Villa Stephanie resort in BadenBaden has been described as ‘one of the most focused medi- spas for lifechanging diagnostics’. It concentrates on five main areas for clients – medical, emotional, detox, fitness and beauty.

The spa’s website explains: ‘Whether it is for an annual medical check, recovering from illness or for a specific stress management, detox, nutrition or fitness programme, Villa Stephanie’s team, coupled with its stylish design, offers the ultimate place to get well, get healthy and improve your life.’

It is unclear which programme Mrs Beckham opted for. The spa offers several, including a seven-day ‘detox’ plan which involves a medical examination, blood analysis, a ‘detox host’, personal training and lymphatic drainage. It costs up to £12,500 with a deluxe suite.

Another plan on offer is the ‘stay fit, stay healthy’ programme. The four-day plan includes training, bootcamp sessions, and hiking tours. It costs £2,600.

In Vogue, Mrs Beckham also ruled out having another child. Lamenting the fact her children – Brooklyn, 19, Romeo, 16, Cruz, 13, and Harper, seven – are ‘all getting older’, she said, ‘No, no, no’ when asked if she would have more.

She said: ‘I love to give all the kids individual attention. That’s really important – that I spend enough time with each of them. And then there’s David as well. And I have a job that’s really time-consuming. I just don’t feel I have enough to give to another. I look at my family and think, “I am so lucky”. You should only ask for so much.’

Discussing how she protects her family from fame, Mrs Beckham said the couple always tried to be ‘open and honest’ with the children. ‘As parents, we communicate together to ensure they are hearing reassurances from us, rather than listening to any gossip from kids at school or reading things online.’

The couple’s Brand Beckham is worth an estimated £340million.
