Help to buy mansions?

-

MONEY Mail reported that experts have raised serious concerns that property developers are inflating the price of new- build homes sold through the Help to Buy scheme.

Meanwhile, in the City & Finance pages, property developer Redrow’s founder Steve Morgan praises Help to Buy as a ‘godsend’ after earning £22 million in dividends.

The Government needs to increase the tax payable on excess profits made on Help to Buy homes and claw back excess earned above the price of similar properties.

The scheme was designed to benefit those in need of affordable

housing, not pay for mansions and yachts of developers. GRAHAM HOLLIS, Wellesbourne, Warks.
