MORE lolly for £21m Holly as she bags M&S deal
THIS Morning host Holly Willoughby was yesterday unveiled as Marks & Spencer’s new style ambassador.
The presenter is known for favouring clothes from high street chains, and her fashion choices have huge influence among millions of followers on her social media accounts.
The mother-of-three, 3 , posts Instagram photos of her outfits every day and the clothes frequently sell out within hours.
She has often been pictured in M&S lines – and becoming a brand ambassador means she now has a formal and lucrative partnership with the chain.
The move adds to a portfolio of jobs which have made her the best-paid woman on British TV. Co-hosting ITV’s This Morning with Phillip Schofield brings in £600,000 a year, while her latest role on I’m A Celebrity … Get Me Out of Here – replacing Ant McPartlin – will pay £500,000. Roles on Dancing on Ice and Celebrity Juice plus endorsements bring the annual total to a cool £2.35million.
Miss Willoughby also has business interests, including two clothing lines and production company Roxy Media, which are believed to push her total riches to £21million.
She revealed the M&S deal to her 3.9million Instagram followers, saying: ‘Got some news … @marksandspencer have always been part of my family and now they have asked me to be part of theirs. Super proud.’ In an official statement, she added: ‘I really hope I can inspire people to be brave and have a little bit more fun with their wardrobe.’
The link-up shows the chain is moving from catwalk names such as stylist Alexa Chung towards a celebrity who has a lot in common with ordinary women. Bosses hope to repeat the success of the partnership with supermodel Twiggy which helped drive profits to a record £1billion some 12 years ago.
Miss Willoughby has already chosen her first outfit of ‘musthave’ items from the autumn collection which will go on sale from September 2 .
M&S has also said star names such as Amanda Holden and Paddy McGuinness will front its new food advertising drive.
