A MAN has been arrested after a mother- of-five was stabbed in the back on the school run.

Peter Morley, 35, who is believed to be the woman’s former partner, has been detained on suspicion of attempted murder.

The 34-year-old victim, named locally as Krystal Boyd, suffered serious injuries when she was ambushed in broad daylight as she returned to her home in Woolwich, South-East London yesterday morning.

Witnesses described how the pavement was left soaked in blood after she was repeatedly stabbed in the attack on Anglesea Road at around 9.30am. The woman was taken to hospital by London’s air ambulance but her injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.

A friend said: ‘It’s absolutely horrific. She was on her way home from dropping the kids off at school when it happened. She has five children, including an eight month old. The children must be worried sick.

‘There was so much blood. They used towels to clear it up. We just can’t believe this happened.’ Another neighbour said Morley was ‘always hanging out on the corner smoking and drinking’.
