POLICEMAN PAID THE ULTIMATE PRICE

KeITH Palmer, 48, the policeman who was fatally stabbed, made the ‘ultimate sacrifice’ to protect others.

The unarmed officer, right, was wearing body armour when he was killed by Masood in the forecourt of the Palace of Westminster.

PC Palmer’s sister Angela said he joined the police because he wanted to ‘make a difference’, adding: ‘He was brave and took his role as a police officer seriously.

‘He treated everyone with respect. Keith died protecting strangers whilst doing his job and he will be remembered by many for his courage and bravery.’

She said the family was ‘completely devastated’ and would always remember him as a caring and loving father, husband, son, uncle and friend. Chief Inspector neil Sawyer said he had made the ‘ultimate sacrifice – Keith never backed away from a job protecting people’.
